Oklahoma Water Resource Board

Oklahoma needs water for small towns to grow and for our State to grow.

Water is as important as oil and gas, and should be under elected people.

A good State Question for next election - put all water issues under the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and have five Corporation Commissioners – each from a different part of the State.

Is water available?? This is one of the first questions asked by a homebuilder considering building apartments or homes in a small town in Oklahoma.

Most of the time the answer will be – there is a 6 months to 2 year waiting period and the water meters cost $2,000 to $5,000 each.

The Water Resource Board has failed to do their job – stop wasting money doing more studies and no action.

Review the lack of planning for water flooding, etc. Look at Kingfisher and Chichasha, etc. These towns have flood issues for years but still unsolved.

Mary Fallin wanted to reduce the size of government – lets start with putting all water issues under the Corporation Commission and let’s look at the Rural Water Districts and how to improve water systems to small towns.

We need all towns and rural water districts to be able to grow 10% each year.

We should do all we can to keep the water north and west and do not sell water to Texas.  Contact the Governor office to voice your opinion to improve water in Oklahoma.
